Dr Julie Dao
Head of Innovation
Dr. Julie Dao, Head of Innovation at Medical Pantry, advocates for repurposing medical waste to drive sustainable healthcare innovations. A recent Monash University doctoral graduate, Julie focuses on cardiovascular disease solutions. Julie, nominated for Forbes 30-Under-30 in Healthcare and Science, is also co-founder of Sonorus, a medical device and AI company,
Nimish Pradhan
Senior Project Manager
Nimish, an engineer dedicated to improving healthcare and the environment, leads Medical Pantry’s initiatives to repurpose medical equipment into new, useful products. Nimish also contributes to various projects to further the organisation's mission of advancing sustainable healthcare and reducing waste in the medical industry.
David Holly
Industrial Designer
With over eight years of design experience, David blends creativity and technical expertise to create impactful solutions. At Medical Pantry, he leads website development, UX/UI, and graphic design projects, enhancing value for the charity and its startup partners. He is committed to integrating sustainable practices into his design work.
Debbie Tan
Innovation Team
Currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Health Data Analytics, Debbie brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and data-driven insights to the Innovation Team at Medical Pantry. With a background as a physiotherapist in Singapore, they are passionate about leveraging data to drive meaningful healthcare innovations.
Outside of work and studies, you’ll often find them rock climbing, embracing both the challenge and adventure of the sport.
Suowei (Simon) Hu
Web Developer
Suowei (Simon) Hu is a Web Developer at OPC.IT in Canberra and a Casual Sessional Academic at ANU, where he supports students in computer science. His dual roles reflect a passion for learning and teaching, applying theory to practice. Simon also volunteers with Medical Pantry’s Innovation Team, contributing to the charity’s initiatives.
Tanishka Brahmanand
Innovation Team
Tany is a junior doctor with a strong passion for using creative processes to advocate for climate action. Currently a University of Melbourne Wattle Fellow, Tany is creatively directing an art exhibition focused on sustainable medicine, set for late 2025. This exhibition is a collaboration with the not-for-profits Medical Pantry and CLIMARTE, aiming to raise awareness and promote sustainability in healthcare.
Kaiyun
Full Stack Developer
Kaiyuan, a computer science graduate from the University of Melbourne, is developing "Boxer," an inventory management web app aimed at improving warehouse efficiency. With a focus on scalability, he seeks to ensure smooth operations as the organization grows. Kai is always open to new ideas and discussions for improvement.
Kyle
Innovation Team
Kyle is a junior doctor at Austin Health with a strong passion for sustainable healthcare. He leads the Education Outreach team at Medical Pantry, where he helps redirect usable medical supplies from hospitals to universities for clinical skills programs. His work focuses on waste reduction and creating positive social impact.
James Balikie
Computer Science
James, a final-year Computer Science student at the University of Melbourne, is passionate about AI and machine learning. At Medical Pantry, he applies his expertise to real-world challenges, contributing to impactful projects. Currently, he's working on the machine learning component of Mediaudit, a project aimed at reducing medication waste and promoting sustainability.
