About us

The Education Outreach Team comprises young and passionate individuals dedicated to reducing the carbon footprint of education providers by sourcing excess medical supplies from hospitals and research facilities. Their mission involves supplying all necessary resources to educational organizations to train the next generation of doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals. They actively seek partnerships with universities, TAFEs, simulation labs, student organizations, and advanced life support educators, aiming to promote sustainability in medical education while ensuring that valuable resources are put to meaningful use.

Meet the Team

Hi! I’m Kyle, a junior doctor at Austin Health. I'm passionate about sustainable healthcare and lead the Education Outreach team at Medical Pantry. We redirect usable medical supplies from hospitals to universities and student societies for clinical skills programs, promoting waste reduction and social impact. Hi! I’m Emily, a second-year medical student at Melbourne Health and the University of Melbourne. With a background in Law and Biomedical Science, I'm passionate about healthcare policy and sustainability. I'm excited to be part of the education outreach team, reducing medical waste and promoting sustainable healthcare education.

Hi! I’m Naomi, soon to be a junior doctor at Austin Health. My passion for environmental sustainability has driven me to engage with Monash Doctors for the Environment Australia and volunteer for Medical Pantry during university. As part of the education outreach team, I’m committed to supporting healthcare students while reducing medical waste and enhancing sustainability in our systems.

Hi, I’m George, a Biomedicine student at the University of Melbourne and a passionate advocate for reducing waste and improving access to medical care. I began my journey with Medical Pantry in the warehouse, and now, as part of the education outreach team, I collaborate with student groups to facilitate medical supply donations.

At the Education Outreach Team, our mission is to facilitate the distribution of free medical supplies and equipment while fostering strong partnerships with educational institutions. Here’s how we operate:

Become a Community Partner: To access our resources, organizations must complete a straightforward online application. This allows us to understand your needs and tailor our support effectively.

Eligibility Review: After submitting your application, we conduct a quick review to ensure you meet our criteria, including reference checks to confirm your commitment to responsible resource use.

Partnership Agreement: Once approved, we provide a partnership agreement outlining your responsibilities as a recipient of our free supplies.

Order Supplies: As an official Community Partner, you can order from our online store whenever needed. If specific items are unavailable, we’ll assist you in creating a "wishlist" of supplies.
