About us

At Medical Pantry, our Donations Team is the first stop on the journey of every donation. Supported by Zendesk, we work hand‑in‑hand with hospitals, clinics, manufacturers, and generous individuals who want to give unused or surplus medical supplies a second life. We are driven by a shared purpose: making sure good supplies never go to waste and instead reach the people, animals, and communities that need them most.

Meet the Team

Harry (Team Lead) is a project manager by day, and Medical Pantry volunteer by night. He started with Medical Pantry in 2021. Despite studying engineering, Harry was hooked by the impact Medical Pantry was having on the healthcare industry. Outside of these occupations, Harry enjoys watching sunsets and taking long walks on the beach.

Elissa is a key part of our Donations Team. She has a ton of experience working in the non-profit sector and is always up for a chat. She also does amazing work for our animals, as Lead of our Animal Welfare Outreach Team.

Emily is a final year medical student at the University of Melbourne and has been with Medical Pantry since 2023. With a background in Law, she is passionate about healthcare policy and sustainability. She loves making an impact as part of our Donations team, reducing medical waste and promoting sustainable healthcare.
 
 
 

What we do

We manage all incoming offers of medical supplies — from masks and bandages to diagnostic tools, hospital equipment, and beyond. Each donation is assessed carefully based on warehouse capacity, partner demand, and suitability for safe distribution. Once accepted, items are delivered to our warehouse, where they’re sorted, catalogued, and stored. Our humanitarian, animal welfare, and education partners then place orders for what their communities require, ensuring every donation is used where it can make the biggest difference.

How we work

Our team operates with collaboration, transparency, and care at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with Medical Pantry’s outreach teams to stay in touch with partner needs and community priorities. Every offer is triaged promptly — accepted with appreciation if it meets current needs or declined respectfully if storage or demand make it unfeasible. With the tools provided by Zendesk and the generosity of our donors, we keep the process streamlined, responsive, and human‑centred. Together, we turn donations into meaningful impact.
